Ramaz Nikolaishvili, the Georgian MP, has been elected as the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation for a two-year term at the 62nd session of the PABSEC, the Georgian Parliament press office said on Saturday.
The plenary session of the Assembly, held on November 15-17 in Ukraine’s capital city of Kyiv, discussed strengthening the role of the parliaments of the Black Sea region countries in the development of security and cooperation.
The Russian delegation officially left the PA, as the Assembly adopted a declaration supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid the current events in the country.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Secretary General of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), Lazar Comanescu, in Tbilisi earlier today to discuss new prospects of cooperation.
Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said the Georgian Government had acted in accordance with “own priorities” in its efforts for European integration, in reaction to the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s critical comments on the European Union’s planned enlargement.
Maka Botchorishvili, the Chair of the European Integration Committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Monday said the country’s legislative delegation had arrived in Prague, the Czech Republic, to express Tbilisi’s support for Ukraine at the Second Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform on Tuesday.
Georgia was able to show “maximum solidarity” with Ukraine, without receiving any protection from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation or economic aid from the European Union, Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said on Saturday.
